“Jimmy Kimmel Live” guest host Anthony Anderson on Thursday closed out his week on the show by pointing out the dueling statements on a key issue related to President Donald Trump’s war in Iran.
As Anderson pointed out, Trump claimed this week that the United States has “total control” over the Strait of Hormuz, which is vital to the passage of ships carrying oil from the Persian Gulf.
“Well, it turns out that may not be true,” the actor/comic said. “Because today, Iran said the Strait of Hormuz is actually under their control.”
Iran dismissed Trump’s claim as “lies and falsehoods,” and traffic through the strait has once again dramatically slowed.

“Now, at this point, I don’t know who to believe,” Anderson said. “The authoritarian psychopaths or the Iranians.”
