Jeffrey Dean Morgan, 59, may be famous for playing tough guys and villains, but his Dec. 29 video proves he's a big softie when it comes to his 7-year-old daughter, George Virginia Morgan.

He shared a sweet Instagram photo cuddling with his little girl in bed, captioning it "Just cuz." In it, they're surrounded by stuffed animals, fuzzy blankets, and their dog Irwin.

"She was literally 3 minutes ago telling me about a lake dragon she knows we are gonna find…. And be friends with. Because, of course we are. My George Virginia," he continued, sharing a glimpse into their tender father-daughter relationship. "Mid sentence, it got quiet… both Irwin and I looked over, and she was out like a light."

He went on to gush about his little one, calling her the "smartest, funniest, most beautiful gal that can tell a story like no one I’ve ever known. Coolest and the sweetest."

"So happy to be home," he concluded, saying he felt "so lucky to be a dad." Morgan is also the father of son Augustus Morgan, 15.

Morgan's wife, actress Hilarie Burton, praised his parenting skills in the comments. "I love having a 'daddy’s girl' because I know all that confidence you’re instilling in her will be the strength she carries with her for the rest of her life," she wrote. "Of course she’s friends with dragons! That’s hero s--t! And her daddy is definitely a hero."

Morgan has played many heroes on TV, from the Comedian in Watchmen in 2009 to a detective in 2011 murder mystery Texas Killing Fields. He's also portrayed some serious villains, like Negan in The Walking Dead and its spinoffs, and a scary stalker in 2011's The Resident. Whether he's playing good or evil, Morgan is always the tough guy on camera, and fans loved seeing his softer side with his daughter.

"You are such a girl dad and it is the sweetest thing ever," said one fan, while another added, "We love this so freaking much! You are such an amazing father!" A third wrote, "Powerful words, Mr. M. Someday she’ll look back, read them, and remember why her bar is set so high … and exactly who set it there! YOU!"
