- Miller pleaded not guilty and was released on $5,000 bond.
- He retired from competing in 2017, making his last Winter Olympics appearance in 2014.
Bode Miller, an Olympic skier and gold medalist, was arrested on drug possession charges.
Miller, who retired in 2017, was arrested on June 6 for two misdemeanor charges: one for possession of a controlled substance and another for possession of drug paraphernalia in Idaho, per PEOPLE. TMZ was first to report the news.
He was released on a cash bond of $5,000. On June 10, he pleaded not guilty to both charges.

Per TMZ, Miller is due back in court on July 29 for a pretrial hearing.

Miller has won six Olympic and 79 World Cup medals, including a gold medal for Alpine Combined at the 2010 Vancouver Games. He is one of the most decorated male skiers in history, and made his final appearance at the 2014 Sochi Olympics, where he won a bronze medal in the Super Giant Slalom, known as the Super-G.

"This can be a tough one to swallow today, having skied so well in the training runs, and then come in and be way out of the medals," Miller said at the Russia-based event at the time, per ESPN. He had completed the downhill run but failed to place, which would have made him the oldest Alpine gold medalist in Winter Games history at 36.
"But I think I skied really well, honestly. I was super-aggressive," he added. "The conditions didn't favor me today, but I think, all things considered, I skied really well." He was inducted into the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Hall of Fame in 2025.

Since retiring from competing, Miller has been focused on his and wife Morgan Beck Miller's children: Nash, Easton, twins Asher and Askel, and, Scarlet; as well as Dace and Nate, whom the skier is father to from prior relationships.
They are also parents to daughter Emeline Grier, who died in June 2018 in a pool drowning accident. She was 19 months old.

Miller and his wife appeared on the *Today *show last month to talk about the importance of water safety. “It can be an uncomfortable topic, and a lot of people avoid it but we’re really trying to bring that to the forefront,” he said at the time.
“The rule in our house is, if you can crawl you must be able to float. If you walk, you must be able to swim," Morgan added.
