Neutrogena Breaks Silence After Tate McRae ‘Post Show Routine’ Video Parodies: ‘Time to Come Clean’

Neutrogena saw your comments on Tate McRae’s viral TikTok ad and had thoughts of their own.

“Heyyy, wow, I’ve been off the grid. Little digital detox after a big festival weekend. You know the one. Wink, wink,” a spokesperson said while reacting to the online chatter, using a face filter over a photo of the brand’s makeup remover, “And I checked my phone to see nine million notifications from you guys.”

The skincare brand’s animation thanked all their fans who interacted with McRae’s post shared on August 1, in which she was accused of barely touching her face with the wipe.

“I see you and I hear you, girl,” the voice said. “I think I have some reflecting to do, too, you know? I'm really, like, really good at cleansing your face. But am I even better at causing a scene?”

“I’d like to thank everyone for the sudden attention. Please respect my privacy as I adjust to the fame,” Neutrogena captioned the post.

Their followers were quick to laugh with the brand in the comments section.

“This is taking me out hahaha, not the ‘adjusting to fame’ PLS😂,” one quipped, while another added, “We love an unbothered diva 😂.” A third wrote, “I’m speechless you guys ate with this😭.”

The brand’s response comes after McRae, 23, made an “post show routine” ad for Neutrogena, in which she shared her skincare routine. First, the “Sports Car” singer grabbed a makeup remover wipe and swept it across her face, keeping her eye makeup on. She then went in with a touch of the Hydro Boost Hyaluronic Acid Water Cream and pressed it into her cheeks and forehead. Finally, she put on the brand’s eye masks.

“On route to Chicago @Neutrogena #Sponsored,” she captioned the post, referencing her performance at Lollapalooza. Her followers poked fun at her tutorial in the comments section.

“Girl be careful, it almost touched ur skin,” one wrote. Another laughed, “HOW was the video approved 😭.” A third commented, “Using the skin products with a full face has me crying LMFAOOAO.”
