Kim Petras offered to send Zohran Mamdani her album early if he does one thing for New York City
The pop star made her request in an X post on Monday, Dec. 29
Mamdani recently revealed in an Interview Magazine interview that he listens to Petras' music in the morning
Kim Petras wants to give Zohran Mamdani a preview of her new album — if he does something for her.
On Monday, Dec. 29, the incoming mayor — who defeated former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who ran as an independent, and Republican nominee Curtis Sliwa in the 2025 New York City mayoral election — revealed to Interview Magazine that he has a certain playlist that gets him "hyped" in the morning.
"I have a few songs," Mamdani, 34, told the publication. "My wife [Rama Duwaji] prefers calmer music in the morning. I, for some reason, want to listen to Kim Petras or Lil Wayne or Madonna."
He noted that at 8 a.m. his picks don't "make much sense."
Mamdani further praised Petras' recent track “Like Your Look” as "a great song."
That wasn't the first time Mamdani shared his admiration for Petras.
Last month, he was seen requesting that a DJ play her music in a viral TikTok.
The "Coconuts" musician, 33, shared a post on X shortly after the story went up making Mamdani an offer in exchange for one request.
"Zohran Mamdani I am willing to privately send you my new album if we can get the horse carriages banned from Central Park," Petras wrote on Dec. 29, sharing a screenshot from the Interview Magazine story.

In a separate X post, Petras, who is transgender, teased, "The signs were always there..." sharing a FOX News screenshot of Mamdani making his mayoral "transition announcement."
In the months leading up to this year's N.Y.C. mayoral election on Nov. 4, Mamdani found a string of support from the music community.
In a July campaign video, he met with Wu-Tang Clan at their final Madison Square Garden show. The footage featured in meeting with RZA, Killer Mike, El-P, and Jadakiss backstage to discuss his platform.
He also joined Lucy Dacus on stage in September at All Things Go in N.Y.C. at Forest Hills Stadium before she performed, per Mamdani's TikTok account.
Just days ahead of the Nov. 4 election, Mamdani made a surprise appearance at PinkPantheress' concert at the Kings Theatre in Brooklyn, N.Y.
Mamdani will take office on Jan. 1, 2026, succeeding embattled one-term Mayor Eric Adams and making history as the first Muslim and democratic socialist leader of N.Y.C.
