Prince George has shot up to nearly match his mother's height, as revealed on the Prince and Princess of Wales's social media account.
The 12-year-old royal stood beside the Princess of Wales in a video shared on the couple's Instagram page, appearing almost level with Catherine, who measures 5ft 9in.
The video captured their visit to RAF Coningsby in Lincolnshire, which took place a fortnight ago.
Kensington Palace published the touching images showing mother and son posing together in front of an aircraft, arms wrapped around one another, both beaming at the camera.
The engagement marked only George's second public outing alongside his mother.
During the engagement, the young prince had the opportunity to climb into the cockpit of one of the historic aircraft belonging to the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.
Catherine, who has served as Royal Honorary Air Commodore of RAF Coningsby since August 2023, joined her son in examining the legendary planes housed at the military base.
The pair spent time with the pilots and engineers responsible for maintaining the flight's remarkable collection, which includes an Avro Lancaster heavy bomber alongside two fighter aircraft - a Supermarine Spitfire and a Hawker Hurricane.

The footage prompted an outpouring of comments from royal watchers struck by how much the young prince has grown.
"Excuse me but when did George become all grown up? What a fun engagement," one fan remarked.
Others expressed similar astonishment, with one writing: "What!?!? He's that tall already? Wow."
