As in Ozempic, Mounjaro, Wegovy...
Of course, the list of GLP-1 weight loss injectables and the public's ability to rattle them off has vastly expanded since news of oh-oh-oh Ozempic shot to the top of public consciousness in 2023.
By then, the This Is Us star was already pretty well-versed in the type 2 diabetes medications that can be prescribed for weight loss. And also quite averse.
"I was very skeptical of starting a GLP-1 for a very long time," the actress recently explained in an exclusive interview with E! News. "I'm just very diligent about what and how things work within the body."
But after listening to a friend's "very thorough" research, she was ready to give it a shot.

She'd "been on diets for a very, very long time, since I was a kid," the 45-year-old explained to E!. But she'd never been able to quiet the food noise until she partnered with Ro, the telehealth company Serena Williamsteamed up with when she was determined to ace a weight loss journey of her own.

Metz's motivation wasn't "doing it purely for vanity's sake," she explained, but rather a desire to carve out her own happily ever after.
As she embarked on a three-month Broadway run in & Juliet, the This Is Me author recalled asking herself: "'How can I be the healthiest for the longest?'" she recounted. "'How can I really make it a priority for my future and what I want my life to look like?'"
And she's not the only star to learn that parting with her previously held beliefs surrounding weight loss drugs is definitively not sweet sorrow.
Having spent her share of time crying on the kitchen floor over her postpartum wellness journey, Trisha Paytas has been thrilled with the 26 pounds she's shed using Zepbound.
"We see so many people losing weight and kind of denying being on a GLP-1," she explained to People in June, "but I just wanna be as transparent as possible so people know why and then other people who have the same issues with food can feel if it's right for them."
And they're just the latest stars to serve up their reasons for trying the medication. Check out who else has weighed in.

There's so much shame around being in a bigger body, so just knowing that I wasn't doing it purely for vanity's sake."Because the result that makes her want to sing its praises is the way it helps her push through eight shows a week in Broadway's& Juliet."It's helped with inflammation," she noted. "It's helped with just overall health lab work and blood work and just generally just an overall feeling of space and creativity that the food noise has quieted.
